Functional Seizures (previously known as PNES)
Functional Seizure treatment (also known as Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES) or Non-Epileptic Seizures (NES)) focuses on creating a personalized plan that highlights awareness of symptom warning signs and developing a proactive plan that supports calming or regulating the nervous system to help widen your activity tolerance. Treatment includes interventions for the body and mind to promote graded exposure to environments and situations that more often elicit tension or symptoms teamed with personalized calming strategies. This rewiring approach gradually develops self-confidence through successful real-life practice to support return to functional tasks.
Functional Movement Disorder (FMD)
Functional Movement Disorder (FMD) treatment focuses on personalized and targeted movement retraining, sensory processing re-education and purposeful functional task engagement to promote symptom management and independence. Using evidenced backed approaches, my treatment retrains various FMD symptoms such as functional weakness, tremors, tics, dystonia and abnormal gait changes through personalized retraining that focuses on nervous system rewiring and successful, repeatable task completion both in and outside of the clinic.
Functional Sensory Changes
Functional sensory changes are a common symptom of Functional Neurological disorder (FND). Treatment at RewireOT aims to calm or regulate the sensory system, provide purposeful graded exposure during functional tasks and improve tolerance of environmental stimulation. Sensory sensitivities or deficits often promote functional symptoms. I work to identify these sensory changes, sensitivities and deficits to personalize supports and strategies that enable your brain and body to regulate and calm the sensory and nervous systems.

Through personalized treatment, I work collaboratively with you to increase consistent engagement in functional tasks to promote progress toward independence in activities meaningful to you.
